Sri Lankan Street Food - Southwick, Sunderland

We had an absolutely wonderful experience here! The chai tea, chicken kottu, and seafood fried rice were all bursting with authentic Sri Lankan flavour. Each dish was cooked to perfection rich, aromatic, and served in generous portions. The environment was calm and welcoming, making it a great place to unwind and enjoy a comforting meal. The staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the overall lovely atmosphere. If you're craving bold, delicious street food in a relaxed setting, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended .

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had an amazing experience at this Sri Lankan street food spot! The pol rotti with lunumiris was fresh and full of authentic flavour – spicy and perfectly balanced. The mutton and chicken rolls were crispy on the outside and generously filled, a proper taste of home-style cooking. Washed it all down with some warm, aromatic chai tea, which was the perfect touch. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re after real Sri Lankan flavours in a casual setting!

Delicious and authentic sri lankan food, run by a sri lankan family who have recently taken over the restaurant who make everything themselves and were the kindest! Definitely recommend the kothu

This new takeaway/cafe has only just opened at the weekend and should prove to be a great addition to Southwick and it's definitely something different from your usual fast food/takeaway establishments! I was keen to support local and give them a try so popped in on my lunch break at work. I chose to take out and decided for the chicken kottu - chopped up roti (a type of flatbread) , stir fried with chicken vegetables and egg. I also had 2 chicken rolls as a side. The staff were friendly and helpful, showing me items from the menu and I look forward to returning to sample everything else as this is dangerously close to my work and it's excellent that they also open on a lunchtime.

We visited the street food cafe on its opening evening. We received a warm welcome to the bright spacious cafe. Having been handed the menus, the staff explained each of the dishes to help us make our choices and we were also asked if we had any allergies.. The meals were prepared and while we waited we chatted to the staff about their plans for their venture. The meals were served and they were generous portions, nicely presented. While we were there, several customers came for takeaway food. The whole experience was very pleasant and I’m sure this venue will be an asset to Southwick. Well priced and very good value for money!

First time visit. If I could give 6 stars, I would do so in a blink of an eye. I have not come across such a fantastic flavour profile before. Absolutely delicious. The service is not what you expect - Just great people welcoming you into their home and feeding you with food cooked with passion and love.

Authentic Sri Lankan food right at your door step we were awestruck by the flavours it brought to us the service is lovely and the food is tasty a must try if you are in or near Sunderland
